About Phil Norris

Philip is Chartered Civil Engineer, a practicing senior project manager with significant experience of commercial procurement processes and change management. His specialist skills gained from a successful career in construction, rail, transportation, and utilities results in wholly appropriate and highly professional solutions. His reputation as an effective and pragmatic manager and engineer has ideally suited him for high profile roles in ground breaking development projects, rail privatisation, major rail projects and business transformations. Notably, he was at the centre of the negotiations between Railtrack and BR for privatisation of the Rail Infrastructure in 1994/5 and was Head of Development for London City Airport between 1985/1993. His personal skills include contract negotiation, organisation design, people assessment, role mapping, recruitment processes, creative writing as well as full competency in office and project IT software. He has obtained his foundation certificate in Prince 2 and he is working towards his Practitioner qualification in 2011 to reinforce his long experience in project management. Philip is also using his many talents as a senior volunteer member of the Tutbury Eco Power team to guide the community hydro-electric generation project in its initial development phase through the complex political, regulatory, contractual and technical landscape.
